too again sephates them within himself, according to two<br />

coordinations, and excites them to providential energies<br />

about secondary natures; he at the same time, as Timreus<br />

says, abiding after his accustomed manner ;<br />

i. e. " Thus spoke Saturnian Jupiter, and excited inevitable<br />

war." Jupiter however is separate and exempt from all<br />

mundane natures ; whence also the most total and leading<br />

<strong>of</strong> the other Gods, though they appear to have in a certain<br />

respect equal authority with Jupiter, through a progression<br />

from the same causes, yet call hitn father. For both Nep-<br />

tune and Juno celebrate him by this appellation. And<br />

though Juno speaks to him as one who is <strong>of</strong> the same<br />

order,<br />

i. e. "For I also am a divinity, and Saturn, <strong>of</strong> inflected<br />

council, endowed me with the greatest dignity, when he<br />

And though Neptune says,<br />

ZEUS Kal EYW, TPlTaTOS 8' A'tal]~ EVEPOlQlV UV(LQQWV '.<br />

i. e. " For we are three brothers from Saturn, whom Rhea<br />

bore, Jupiter and I, and the third is Pluto, who governs the<br />

infernal realms : "<br />

Yet Jupiter is called father by both these divinities ; and<br />

this because he comprehends in himself the one and im-<br />

partible cause <strong>of</strong> all fabrication ; is prior to the Saturnian<br />
