i’m from Sicily, and the location of Melogy, my new men’s
grooming salon next to the Eurostar train terminal so buzzes
with energy, it reminds me of an Italian piazza.
We’re part of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel on Euston
Road, so during my breaks I oft en explore the rest of it: enjoying
a beer served in Victorian-style aluminium tankards in the old
Booking Offi ce, or striding down the main staircase – used as a
backdrop for a slew of movies and even the Spice Girl’s
Wannabe video – as I let out a little “zig-a-zig-ah” for eff ect.
Off nearby Pentonville Road there’s Regent Quarter, home
to Bar Pepito and the Camino tapas bar (which does a mean
squid dish), as well as Urban Kings fi ghting club where I do
Thai boxing when I need to clear my mind.
Walking down York Way I take in the stunning new
buildings of The Guardian and Kings Place arts venue at
number 90, whose lobby leads straight onto the Regent’s
Canal. I get a thrill from sitting by the waterside, so near to
the bustle of King’s Cross. melogy.com

je suis sicilien et le quartier où se trouve Melogy, mon
salon de soins pour hommes près du terminus Eurostar,
dégage une énergie qui me rappelle les piazze italiennes.
Comme nous sommes dans l’Hôtel St Pancras Renaissance,
sur Euston Road, mes pauses sont souvent consacrées
à explorer l’hôtel : savourer une bière dans les choppes
victoriennes en aluminium de l’ex-bureau des réservations ou
descendre le grand escalier, décor de bien des fi lms et même du
clip Wannabe des Spice Girls, le « zig-a-zig-ah » aux lèvres.
Un peu plus loin, dans Regent Quarter près de Pentonville
Road, se trouvent Bar Pepito et le bar à tapas Camino (leurs
calamars sont à se pâmer), ainsi que le club d’arts martiaux
Urban Kings, où je fais un peu de boxe thaïe .
Quand je descends York Way, j’admire les superbes
nouveaux locaux du quotidien The Guardian et le centre
artistique de Kings Place, au 90. Le hall donne sur Regent’s
Canal. C’est une sensation unique que d’être assis au bord de
l’eau, à deux pas de l’agitation de King’s Cross. melogy.com
