ADJUVANT ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT<br />

Given the multiple nature of the pain, many times just the drug treatment is not enough. The<br />

complementation with other kinds of treatments is of great value. They are:<br />

Improves the usage, mobility and decreases the stress. Mainly at the lumbar,<br />

muscular pain, headache, etc. It is important for the subject to feel involved to<br />

the treatment and continues the exercises at home (which gives an idea<br />

about the adhesion grade to the treatment and serves to monitor the usage of<br />

opioid).<br />

- TENS (transcutaneous electric stimulation)<br />

- EENM (neuromuscular electric stimulation)<br />

- TL (laser therapy)<br />

- TEM (electromagnetic field therapy)<br />

Handle many types of pain by a located stimulation that produces an<br />

electromagnetic change, change in the conduct of the painful sign, increase<br />

of the endorphin secretion.<br />

The guided exercise improves the pain of many etiologies, mainly<br />

fibromialgia, osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, among others. For instance,<br />

aerobic exercises were associated to the decrease of painful points. In<br />

addition, decrease stress, decrease weight and has a positive effect at the<br />

mood.<br />

- Improve the pain – food rich in Omega 3 (fish oil, vegetables and greens,<br />

nuts and almonds) – decrease the chronic inflammation and consequently<br />

the pain.<br />
