Chapter 18
X-rays
How good are X-rays for finding infection?
Understand that the outer layer of jawbone is next to the
cheek, and the inner layer of jawbone is alongside the tongue.
Clarity of the tooth on an x-ray depends on the thickness of
these two layers of bone; this is a major reason why infections
are hidden on an x-ray. Dentists may refuse to remove a tooth
when they cannot see an infected area at the end of the root.
Infection is often hidden behind, or between, the roots, where it
cannot be seen on an x-ray.
My tooth loss was a result of a nerve canal being calcified
shut, causing its death. Symptoms are not always in the
mouth! In my case, a painful elbow forced me to find the cause;
standard medical protocols would have likely treated it
differently.
It is critical for health professionals to know the basic path of
the acupuncture meridians with regard to the teeth and organ
tissue systems. With this knowledge, in many cases they can
save patients pain, time, and money.
Look carefully at the picture and the x-ray of Margo‟s teeth, my
next case.
