amalgams. At each appointment I took Fritz‟s blood pressure.
His blood pressure did not change until I replaced his stainless
steel partial with an all-plastic partial. Compatible dental
materials helped his blood pressure to normalize.
The cases about George and Fritz demonstrate how dental
materials may be a primary cause of pain and of poor health.
Knowing the content of dental materials can direct health
practitioners to many patient problems. Along with x-rays and

affects of restorative dental materials.
Dental Gold
Dental gold, an alloy of gold and other metals, is a toxic
material used to make crowns and other restorations. Pure gold
or gold foil can also be a disturbance to the patient‟s health, the
same as with the dental gold alloy. (See Chapter 8 for Case
history about Dr. Dave‟s gold inlays and gold foil removal).
Dental gold has an affinity for mercury released from silver
mercury amalgam fillings. High heat will greatly increase the
release of mercury vapor from gold restorations that are
