Germany. Dr. Voll's famous statement that "80 to 90 percent of
systemic problems are caused, or influenced by the oral cavity,
tonsils, and sinuses," still holds true today. Dr. Voll's invention,
EAV (Electro-acupuncture by Voll), sometimes called electrodermal
screening, involves the use of conductance points
(acupuncture points) on the hands and feet to allow exploration
of the entire meridian-energy system. Dr. Andrew Landerman,
D.D.S., led me through the important steps of EAV and the
relationship of teeth to the organ and tissue systems of the
body. Both Dr. Landerman and another dentist, Dr. Christian,
taught me that the metal oxides, commonly used in composite
fillings, are incompatible with the patient.
Dr. Harold Kristal, D.D.S., made important presentations
about nutrition and basic body chemistry; he pointed out how
deficiencies are able to cause poor health. Dr. David Eggelston
D.D.S., as well as Dr. Kristal, researched the detrimental effects
of metals on the immune system. Both Dr. Ralph Turk, D.D.S.
and Dr. Krammer, D.D.S., gave outstanding lectures on the
harmful effects of high speed dental drilling; following their
lectures, I changed from high to low speed drilling in my dental
practice, allowing me to better save my patient‟s teeth. Both of
these dentists also pointed out how a wide variety of symptoms
and adverse health effects are readily produced by the electrical
effects of metal fillings and other metal dental materials in our
mouths. The late Dr. Thomas Stone, M.D., would become an
important friend and collaborator. I still remember how he
startled the dentists at the seminar when he told us why he was
there: "I know you dentists are killing my patients, I just want to
find out how you are doing it." He drove home the importance
of dental effects on patients' health.
Other important influences came later in my journey. Dr.
Vincent Speckhart, M.D., was an oncologist who investigated the
use of EAV extensively. His use of both homeopathy and dental
revision to aid his patient‟s and enhanced their ability to
