2.5 Setting the Datum with the 3D Touch Probe System<br />

Corner as datum<br />

Select the CORNER = DATUM probe function.<br />

To use the points that just probed for a basic rotation:<br />

Transfer the touch point coordinates to memory.<br />

Move the touch probe to a starting position near the first touch point on the side that was not probed for basic<br />

rotation.<br />

Select the probing direction.<br />

Probe the workpiece.<br />

Move the touch probe to a starting position near the second touch point on the same side.<br />

DATUM X =<br />

Probe the workpiece.<br />

Enter the first coordinate of the datum point, here for the X axis.<br />
