Interrupting machining<br />

There are various ways to interrupt a program run:<br />

• Programmed interruptions<br />

• External STOP key<br />

• Switching to PROGRAM RUN / SINGLE BLOCK<br />

• EMERGENCY STOP button<br />

If the <strong>TNC</strong> registers an error during program run, it automatically interrupts<br />

machining.<br />

Programmed interruptions<br />

Interruptions can be programmed directly in the part program. The part<br />

program is interrupted at a block containing one of the following entries:<br />

• STOP<br />

• Miscellaneous functions M0, M02 or M30<br />

• Miscellaneous function M06, if the machine tool builder has assigned it<br />

a stop function<br />

To interrupt or abort machining immediately:<br />

The block which the <strong>TNC</strong> is currently executing is not completed.<br />

The ❊ sign in the status display blinks.<br />

STOP<br />

Interrupt machining.<br />

The part program can be aborted with the STOP key.<br />

The ❊ sign disappears <strong>from</strong> the status display.<br />

Abort program run.<br />

To interrupt machining at the end of the current block:<br />

You can interrupt the program run at the end of the current block by<br />

switching to the PROGRAM RUN / SINGLE BLOCK.<br />

Select PROGRAM RUN / SINGLE BLOCK.<br />
