117.1 The CONTRACTOR has to ensure all precautionary<br />
measures and exercise utmost care in handling the<br />
inflammable gas cylinder/inflammable liquids/paints etc. as<br />
required under the law and/or as advised by the fire<br />
Authorities <strong>of</strong> the EMPLOYER<br />
118.1 Temporary combustible structures will not be built near or<br />
around work site.<br />
119 Precautions against fire: 119.1 The CONTRACTOR will have to provide Fire<br />
Extinguishers, Fire Buckets and drums at worksite as<br />
recommended by ENGINEER-IN-CHARGE. They will have<br />
to ensure all precautionary measures and exercise utmost<br />
care in handling the inflammable gas cylinders/ inflammable<br />
liquid/ paints etc. as advised by ENGINEER-IN-CHARGE.<br />
Temporary combustible structures will not be built near or<br />
around the work-site.<br />
120 Explosives: 120.1 Explosives shall not be stored or used on the WORK or on<br />
the SITE by the CONTRACTOR without the permission <strong>of</strong><br />
the ENGINEER-IN-CHARGE in writing and then only in<br />
the manner and to the extent to which such permission is<br />
given. When explosives are required <strong>for</strong> the WORK they<br />
will be stored in a special magazine to be provided at the cost<br />
<strong>of</strong> the CONTRACTOR in accordance with the Explosives<br />
Rules. The CONTRACTOR shall obtain the necessary<br />
licence <strong>for</strong> the storage and the use <strong>of</strong> explosives and all<br />
operations in which or <strong>for</strong> which explosives are employed<br />
shall be at sole risk and responsibility <strong>of</strong> the<br />
CONTRACTOR and the CONTRACTOR shall indemnify<br />
the EMPLOYER against any loss or damage resulting<br />
directly or indirectly therefrom.<br />
121 Mines act: 121.1 SAFETY CODE: The CONTRACTOR shall at his own<br />
expense arrange <strong>for</strong> the safety provisions as required by the<br />
ENGINEER-IN-CHARGE in respect <strong>of</strong> all labour directly<br />
employed <strong>for</strong> per<strong>for</strong>mance <strong>of</strong> the WORKS and shall provide<br />
all facilities in connection therewith. In case the<br />
CONTRACTOR fails to make arrangements and provides<br />
necessary facilities as a<strong>for</strong>esaid, the ENGINEER-IN-<br />
CHARGE shall be entitled to do so and recover the costs<br />
there<strong>of</strong> from the CONTRACTOR.<br />
121.2 Failure to comply with Safety Code or the provisions<br />
relating to report on accidents and to grant <strong>of</strong> maternity<br />
benefits to female workers shall make the CONTRACTOR<br />
liable to pay Company Liquidated Damages an amount not<br />
exceeding Rs.50/- <strong>for</strong> each default or materially incorrect<br />
