4.13 While not all of the above developments are likely to have a direct impact on the local roads in
Bishopton, they have been considered by this Transport Assessment as being committed
developments. Therefore, where traffic data from committed development was included on the
local road network by the 2008 analysis, it has been retained by this Transport Assessment,
thereby providing a more robust traffic impact analysis.
Analysis Scenarios
4.14 This Transport Assessment has considered the following traffic flow scenarios for the detailed
junction assessments
• 2027 Weekday PM Base + Committed Development + Consented Dargavel Masterplan
(referred to as the ‘Base’ assessment); and
• 2027 Weekday PM Base + 6,000m 2 foodstore.
4.15 The detailed analysis of the junctions identified has been undertaken using ARCADY 6, PICADY 5
and Linsig 3 which are industry standard tools for the assessment of roundabouts, priority junctions
and signalised junctions respectively.
4.16 In terms of roundabouts and priority controlled junctions, the maximum practical capacity is taken
as 0.85 (ratio of flow to capacity). The maximum practical capacity, or degree of saturation (DoS)
for traffic signals is 90%.
