Dr. med. vet. Ralf S Mueller<br />
Graduated in Munich/Germany in 1985, completed his thesis in 1987, and worked in<br />
several large and small animal practices before completing a residency in veterinary<br />
dermatology at the University <strong>of</strong> California/Davis in 1992. He is a Diplomate <strong>of</strong> the<br />
American <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Veterinary</strong> Dermatology and a Fellow <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>Veterinary</strong> Science. In 1992 he moved to Melbourne/Australia to work with his<br />
partner and wife Dr. Sonya Bettenay. Together, they created the first, purpose-built<br />
specialist practice not linked to a general practice in Australia. They established the<br />
Distance Education Program in <strong>Veterinary</strong> Dermatology <strong>of</strong> the Postgraduate<br />
Foundation in <strong>Veterinary</strong> Science <strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Sydney. During that time, Dr.<br />
Mueller was concurrently consulting and teaching at the <strong>Veterinary</strong> Teaching<br />
Hospital/University <strong>of</strong> Sydney. In 1999, he became Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor in <strong>Veterinary</strong><br />
Dermatology at the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Veterinary</strong> Medicine and Biomedical<br />
Sciences/Colorado State University, w<strong>here</strong> he is involved in teaching, consulting and<br />
veterinary dermatology research. He has published over 100 studies, articles, book<br />
chapters and books in the German, English, Spanish and French literature in<br />
Australia, Europe and America and given over 200 seminars, lectures and talks in<br />
Australia, Europe, United States, New Zealand and Canada. Dr. Mueller has two<br />
children, Anya and Florian and when he is not working, he takes his family skiing,<br />
rock-climbing or hiking.<br />
Dr Reg Pascoe AM, BVSc. DVSc. FRCVS. FACVSc.<br />
Graduated from the University <strong>of</strong> Queensland in 1951. Commenced general large<br />
animal practice in Oakey and in 1969 established a large animal hospital,<br />
predominantly for horses. Is a registered specialist in Equine Surgery and has a<br />
special interest in Dermatology, presenting his first paper on skin diseases in<br />
1971.Author and co author on four equine Dermatology books and over 60<br />
refereed scientific published articles<br />
Biography: University <strong>of</strong> Queensland BVSc 1951, MVSc. 1967 , DVSc. 1984;<br />
Adjunct Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>Veterinary</strong> Science 1998; FRCVS 1973, FACVSc 1975. Began<br />
private general rural practice in Oakey 1952; equine practice covering reproduction,<br />
surgery and dermatology from 1966; Specialist in Equine Surgery since 1988.<br />
Published over 60 referred articles, author <strong>of</strong> Equine Dermatoses (3 editions),<br />
Colour Atlas <strong>of</strong> Skin Diseases <strong>of</strong> Horses, and Vade Mecum II - Diseases <strong>of</strong><br />
Horses.Co-author Colour Atlas <strong>of</strong> Equine Diseases and Handbook <strong>of</strong> Equine<br />
Dermatology.<br />
Dr Linda Vogelnest<br />
Graduated from Sydney University 1984. Worked in small animal practice in<br />
Australia and locuming in UK for 4 years. Full-time head <strong>of</strong> small animal unit at<br />
Sydney University <strong>Veterinary</strong> Centre Camden for 2 years, then part-time registrar in<br />
small animals for 8 years. Achieved Membership <strong>of</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Veterinary</strong><br />
