Immunotherapy<br />
• The usefulness <strong>of</strong> allergen specific immunotherapy (ASIT) in equine insect<br />
hypersensitivity is unclear. Early attempts to use immunotherapy were<br />
reported to be unsuccessful. A few horses that had positive reactions to only<br />
mosquito or black fly extracts appear to respond well.<br />
