1.9 File name Rules<br />

File name of the input/output files complies with the limited use of characters that are<br />

set for the OS.<br />

There are cases in which the number of characters and code system must be taken into<br />

account because the file name is also set in the object modules.<br />

■ Number of Characters for the File Name<br />

The file name of the input/output files complies with the limited use of characters that are set for the OS.<br />

■ Character Code of the File Name<br />

The source file names of the C/C++ language and assembler are not only set as the source file name<br />

information in object module, but also set as module names.<br />

The module name can be in English letters, numbers and the underscore symbol (_) only as described in<br />

Section "1.8 Identifiers". Therefore, the file names that use Japanese characters or spaces must be modified<br />

specifying module name at the time of assembling.<br />

● Characters that can be used for the file name (Windows Version)<br />

Alphabetical letters, numbers and symbols except for the following:<br />

\ / : ; , * ? " < > |<br />

When specifying a file name that includes spaces, enclose the file name with double quotations (").<br />

When specifying a directory's name including spaces as the environment variable, do not enclose the file<br />

name with double quotations (").<br />
