B.1 Common Format<br />

The HEX format consists of six fields, (a) to (f).<br />

Each field is set using the ASCII code. Field (g) is explained later.<br />

(a):<br />

Indicates the start of a record. The character ":" (0x3A) is used.<br />

(b):<br />

Indicates the number of bytes in the data part of (e).<br />

Since the actual 1-byte data is represented by 2-byte ASCII code in this format, d1 and d2 in the above<br />

figure are counted as one.<br />

I1 indicates the high-order digits and I2 indicates the low-order digits. Values in the range of 0 to 255<br />

can be set.<br />

It is "<strong>00</strong>" to "FF" in ASCII notation and "0x3030" to "0x4646" in hexadecimal notation.<br />

(c):<br />

Indicates the address allocated to the first data if the contents of (e) are object data.<br />

a1 indicates the high-order digits and a4 indicates the low-order digits. Values in the range of 0 to 65535<br />

can be set.<br />

It is "<strong>00</strong><strong>00</strong>" to "FFFF" in ASCII notation and "0x30303030" to "0x46464646" in hexadecimal notation.<br />

(d):<br />

Indicates the record type.<br />

<strong>00</strong>: Data record (HEX8/HEX16/HEX32 format)<br />

01: End record (HEX8/HEX16/HEX32 format)<br />

02: Extended segment address record (HEX16/HEX32 format)<br />

03: Start segment address record (HEX16/HEX32 format)<br />

04: Extended linear address record (HEX32 format)<br />

05: Start linear address record (HEX32 format)<br />

This field depends on the record type of (d). See the explanations of each record in Appendix "B.2 Data<br />
