ARTICLE 8<br />

Shall <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hampton</strong> raise and appropriate as an operating<br />

budget, not including appropriations by special warrant articles, <strong>the</strong> amount set<br />

forth on <strong>the</strong> budget posted with <strong>the</strong> warrant, for <strong>the</strong> purposes set forth <strong>the</strong>rein,<br />

totaling $16,749,141.00.<br />

Should this article be defeated, <strong>the</strong> operating budget<br />

shall be $15,567,379, which is <strong>the</strong> same as last year, with certain adjustments<br />

required by previous action <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> Meeting or by law or <strong>the</strong> governing<br />

body may hold one special meeting, in accordance with RSA 40:13, X and XVI,<br />

to take up <strong>the</strong> issue <strong>of</strong> a revised operating budget only."<br />

*NOTE: Warrant Article #5 (Operating Budget) does not include special<br />

warrant articles 6, 7, 9, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and individual<br />

warrant articles 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17.<br />

ARTICLE 9<br />

Shall <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> raise and appropriate $350,000 to contribute to <strong>the</strong><br />

Road Improvement Capital Reserve Fund established by Article 16 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 1998<br />

<strong>Town</strong> Meeting pursuant to <strong>the</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong> RSA 35:1 and to appropriate an<br />

amount not to exceed $600,000 $700,000 for use as <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong>'s 20% match on<br />

<strong>the</strong> Route 1 reconstruction project and o<strong>the</strong>r contingencies related to <strong>the</strong> Route 1<br />

reconstruction?<br />

ARTICLE 10<br />

Shall <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> raise and appropriate $277,000 as discussed in Article<br />

14 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 1998 <strong>Town</strong> Meeting for <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> replacing <strong>the</strong> HVAC systems,<br />

repairing <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ro<strong>of</strong>, installing Americans with Disabilities Act <strong>of</strong> 1990 (42<br />

U.S.C. et seq as amended) compliant toilets, providing remodeling, and fund<br />

move-in costs from <strong>the</strong> existing <strong>Town</strong> Offices at 136 Winnacunnet Road to <strong>the</strong><br />

Citizen's Bank building located at 90 and 100 Winnacunnet Road?<br />
