ARTICLE 25<br />

Shall <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hampton</strong> vote to raise and appropriate <strong>the</strong> sum <strong>of</strong><br />

$12,170 to fund <strong>the</strong> cost items relating to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Hampton</strong> Police Association<br />

(Sergeants) salaries and benefits for 1998. Such sum representing <strong>the</strong><br />

additional salaries and benefits contained in a collective bargaining agreement<br />

between <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hampton</strong> by its Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen and unit noted above,<br />

pursuant to <strong>New</strong> <strong>Hampshire</strong> RSA 273-A.<br />

NOTE: <strong>the</strong> above agreement is for <strong>the</strong> years 1997, 1998 and 1999. The<br />

additional amounts necessary to fund <strong>the</strong> cost items for <strong>the</strong> following years are:<br />

1997: $5,445 to cover retroactive salaries and benefits.<br />

1998: $6,725 over <strong>the</strong> amounts for <strong>the</strong> contract year 1997 for salaries and<br />

benefits.<br />

1999: $8,422 over <strong>the</strong> amounts for <strong>the</strong> contract year 1997 & 1998 for salaries<br />

and benefits. Recommended by <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen. Recommended by <strong>the</strong><br />

Budget Committee.<br />

It was agreed, on a motion by Richard Bateman and a second by<br />

Sharleene Hurst to end debate on this article and put <strong>the</strong> question on <strong>the</strong> ballot<br />

as written.<br />

Sharleene Hurst fur<strong>the</strong>r moved to restrict reconsideration <strong>of</strong> Article<br />

25. The motion was seconded by Richard Bateman. All <strong>the</strong> voters agreed.<br />

The Moderator declared that Article 25 would go on <strong>the</strong> ballot and that<br />

no fur<strong>the</strong>r consideration would take place at this time.<br />

$34,652 to fund <strong>the</strong> cost items relating to <strong>the</strong> Teamsters, Local #633 salaries<br />

and benefits for 1998. Such sum representing <strong>the</strong> additional salaries and<br />

benefits contained in<br />

<strong>Hampton</strong> by its Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen and <strong>the</strong> Teamsters (Clerical, PW Foremen,<br />

PD Dispatchers) pursuant to <strong>New</strong> <strong>Hampshire</strong> RSA 273-A.<br />

NOTE: <strong>the</strong> above agreement is for <strong>the</strong> years 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. The<br />

1997: $17,760 to cover retroactive salaries and benefits.<br />

1998: $16,892 over <strong>the</strong> amounts for <strong>the</strong> contract year 1997 for salaries and<br />

benefits.<br />
