A motion to adjourn was made by 'Sandy' Buck and seconded by<br />

Bonnie Searle. Seeing <strong>the</strong>re was no fur<strong>the</strong>r business forthcoming <strong>the</strong> Moderator<br />

declared <strong>the</strong> meeting adjourned at 5:03pm<br />

After <strong>the</strong> meeting <strong>the</strong> members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen and <strong>the</strong><br />

Budget Committee met to re-address <strong>the</strong> amended articles and reconsider, if<br />

necessary, <strong>the</strong>ir recommendations. No recommendations were changed with <strong>the</strong><br />

exception <strong>of</strong>Article 33.<br />

based upon <strong>the</strong> amendments made.<br />

The Budget Committee voted to recommend that article<br />

RECOUNT<br />

On March 17, 1998 a petition to have Article 16 recounted was<br />

submitted to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> Clerk by Arthur Moody and ten registered voters. The<br />

Board <strong>of</strong> Recount was convened at 9AM on March 26th in <strong>the</strong> Selectmen 's<br />

Meeting Room <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Hampton</strong> <strong>Town</strong> Offices. Present at <strong>the</strong> recount were Asst.<br />

Moderator Paul Lessard, substituting for Moderator John Walker, Clerk Arleen<br />

Andreozzi, and Selectmen Virginia Bridle and Michael Plouffe. Substituting for<br />

excused Selectman Frederick Rice was <strong>Town</strong> Manager, James Barrington. The<br />

clerk swore in <strong>the</strong> substitute Selectmen and <strong>the</strong> ballot counters.<br />

The petitioner<br />

Arthur Moody was present. The Assistant Moderator explained <strong>the</strong> procedure by<br />

which he would conduct <strong>the</strong> recount and sorted <strong>the</strong> ballots.<br />

Five recount teams<br />

were established. After <strong>the</strong> votes had been counted and tallied <strong>the</strong> outcome <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> vote remained <strong>the</strong> same. The new total was as follows: Yes 1525 No 1521<br />
