After an on-site inspection by <strong>the</strong> Building Department and <strong>the</strong> Fire Department,<br />

to insure that <strong>the</strong> premises conform to <strong>the</strong> required standards, <strong>the</strong> Certificate will<br />

be issued. This Certificate will have a life <strong>of</strong> ten years. To continue <strong>the</strong><br />

Certificate <strong>of</strong> Rental Occupancy for a subsequent ten year term, a new<br />

inspection must be performed and new Certificate issued.<br />

on <strong>the</strong> date <strong>of</strong> enactment <strong>of</strong> this ordinance will expire ten years from <strong>the</strong> date <strong>the</strong><br />

Certificate was issued.<br />

In order to continue <strong>the</strong> Certificate <strong>of</strong> Rental Occupancy,<br />

an inspection must be performed and a new Certificate issued by <strong>the</strong> Building<br />

Department.<br />

12.4 Revocation : The Building Department may revoke any Certificate <strong>of</strong><br />

Rental Occupancy should <strong>the</strong> premises no longer conform to <strong>the</strong> requirements <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Ordinance, or to any State or <strong>Town</strong> health regulations. The notice <strong>of</strong><br />

revocation must be mailed to <strong>the</strong> owner <strong>of</strong> record <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> property by Certified<br />

Mail and posted at <strong>the</strong> front entrance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> premises. When <strong>the</strong> violation is<br />

abated <strong>the</strong> applicable Certificate will be reissued, to expire on its original<br />

expiration date.<br />

12.5 Fees: No fees will be levied to obtain <strong>the</strong> aforementioned Certificates<br />

unless more than three (3) visits are necessitated.<br />

3. Any multi-storied building shall be subject to elevators. Elevator shafts<br />

shall be exempt from height requirements <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> underlying zone.<br />
