3.2.4 <strong>net</strong>X Driver<br />
The <strong>net</strong>X Driver is used to connect the <strong>DTM</strong> to the device via different<br />
connection types. The <strong>DTM</strong> communicates with the device via an USB<br />
connection, a serial (RS232) connection or a TCP/IP connection. The <strong>net</strong>X<br />
Driver establishes<br />
• via the USB interface of the device and the USB port of the PC an USB<br />
connection to the device,<br />
• via the RS232 interface of the device and the COM port of the PC a<br />
serial connection (RS232) to the device<br />
• and via Ether<strong>net</strong> a TCP/IP connection to the device.<br />
To connect the <strong>DTM</strong> to the physical layer of the device the <strong>net</strong>X Driver<br />
software works in combination with the software components:<br />
• “USB/COM connector” for the USB connection and for the serial<br />
connection (RS232) and<br />
• “TCP/IP connector” for the Ether<strong>net</strong> connection.<br />
