Definition 6.1 (Sent. Logic L SL , Language L ⊆ L SL )
The language L SL of propositional (or sentential) logic
consists of
□ and ⊤: falsum and verum,
p, q, r, x 1 , x 2 , . . . x n , . . .: a countable set AT of
SL-constants,
¬, ∧, ∨, →: the sentential connectives (¬ is unary, all
others are binary operators),
(, ): the parantheses to help readability.
Generally we consider only a finite set of SL-constants.
They define a language L ⊆ L SL . The set of L-formulae
