7. Modal Logic 3. Axioms for Modal Logics<br />

Up to now we were thinking of K i ϕ (the box<br />

operator □ i ) as agent i knows that ϕ. What if<br />

we interpret the operator as belief?<br />

Under such an interpretation axiom T has to be<br />

dropped. But all other axioms make sense.<br />

Axiom system KD45 is called the standard<br />

logic of beliefs. Axiom K is called logical<br />

omniscience, axiom D is called consistency,<br />

axiom 4 (resp. axiom 5) is called positive<br />

(resp. negative) introspection.
