Definition 7.5 (Semantics of Modal Logic)<br />

The truth of a L modal1 -formula is evaluated relative to a world w and a<br />

Kripke structure 〈W, R〉, where W is a set of (propositional) models<br />

(possible worlds) and R is a binary relation on them, the accessibility<br />

relation.<br />

The relation |= is defined as follows:<br />

〈W, R〉 |= w p if p is primitive and w |= p,<br />

〈W, R〉 |= w φ ∧ ψ if 〈W, R〉 |= w φ and 〈W, R〉 |= w ψ.<br />

〈W, R〉 |= w ¬φ if not 〈W, R〉 |= w φ<br />

〈W, R〉 |= w □φ if for any w ′ ∈ W with wRw ′ : 〈W, R〉 |= w ′ φ
