Note: Cabrera (1978) differed in his opinion to that <strong>of</strong> Vuilleumier (1969) as to the limits <strong>of</strong> this species<br />

suggesting that P. atacamensis represented the larger size range, also possessing broader capitula, and<br />

maintained them as separated taxa; Vuilleumier‘s treatment is followed here, especially since there is a<br />

significant overlap <strong>of</strong> characters in Cabrera‘s key (1978: 652–653) in the relevant couplet.<br />
