General Engineering Services: <strong>Tetra</strong> <strong>Tech</strong> has provided professional<br />

engineering services to the City of Hollywood for over seven years. .<br />

Professional services provided include preliminary design, preparation of final<br />

design and construction documents, permitting, bidding, and engineering<br />

services during construction, including construction inspection and<br />

administration. Projects delivered include multiple disciplines of engineering<br />

including water and wastewater engineering. Services include surveying,<br />

geotechnical engineering, design and preparation of contract documents,<br />

permitting, bidding, and construction phase services.<br />

The conversion of pump stations A4, N1, N7, and W20 provided design,<br />

permitting and construction administration services for the conversion of five<br />

wet pit / dry pit pump stations in the City of Hollywood to submersible pump stations ranging in size from 0.5 MGD to 2.5<br />

MGD. Construction permits were obtained for the improvements to each pump station from the Broward County Department of<br />

Planning and Environmental Protection. Upgrades were completed at stations A-4 on N 64th Avenue, N-1 on 4080 N. Hills<br />

Drive, N-5 on N. 34th Avenue, N-7 on Green Street and W-20 on N 50th Avenue. At each location, upgrades included new<br />

submersible pumps, electric services, control panels and level sensors. Special project considerations included limitations on<br />

noise levels within residential areas and lift station by-pass procedures to ensure continuous operation at each existing pump<br />

station. <strong>Tetra</strong> <strong>Tech</strong> performed weekly project site visits during the 15 month construction period to verify that the work was<br />

proceeding in accordance with the design documents<br />

The water main replacement project from Hollywood Boulevard to Johnson Street between N. 46 Avenue and N. 52 Avenue<br />

consists of the replacement of approximately 26,000 feet of 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch existing water mains along local<br />

City streets and paved alleys sharing the right-of-way with other existing utilities such as power, telephone, cable, gas and force<br />

main. These improvements involve upgrading 2-inch, 4-inch, and 6-inch water mains one nominal size and replacing 8-inch and<br />

12-inch water mains with the same nominal size. The existing water mains will be replaced new with PVC water mains, isolation<br />

valves, fire hydrants, and water services.<br />
