MEDICAL DEPARTMENT<br />

Medical Wing is a fea<strong>the</strong>r in <strong>the</strong> cap <strong>of</strong> <strong>WBSEB</strong> in its glorious journey for 52 years.<br />

The Wing is headed by <strong>the</strong> Chief Medical Officer. A<strong>part</strong> from <strong>the</strong> Corporate Medical Cell doing mainly<br />

multifarious administrative jobs, <strong>the</strong> Wing extends its tender hands <strong>of</strong> care and treatment at remote Hydel<br />

Generating Stations like RHP, JHP, TCFHP & PPSP, and also at jeerat 400 kV Sub-station (under<br />

Transmission) and at Distribtion Head Quarters, through Qualified Medical Officer and trained Paramedical<br />

personnel. One Pathology Unit runs at RHP. At some project like JHP, we are to extend medical aids<br />

to <strong>the</strong> local inhabitants also, on humanitarian ground. The Medical Unit <strong>of</strong> Dist. Head Quarters covers<br />

<strong>the</strong> employees <strong>of</strong> Vidyut Bhavan, Bidhannagar, and employees attending <strong>the</strong> Head Quarters on different<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficial purposes.<br />

We have some reserved beds for indoor treatment in Behala Balananda Brahmachari Hospital and<br />

Thakurpukur Cancer Centre and Welfare Home.<br />

Medical Reimbursement :<br />

The Board employees are entitled to have treatment in all Govt. Hospitals/Clinics with almost full<br />

reimbursement facilities.<br />

The existing facility has been enhanced to a great extent in this year.<br />

a) Upper ceiling limit has been withdrawn for indoor treatment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> employees and his/her dependents,<br />

save and except <strong>the</strong> cost <strong>of</strong> Stent, Balloon for PTCA, Heart Valve, I.O.L. and pacemaker.<br />

b) Cost <strong>of</strong> medicines, advised on <strong>the</strong> day <strong>of</strong> discharge, will be reimbursed upto maximum consumption<br />

for 15 days.<br />

c) Pr<strong>of</strong>essional fees, anaes<strong>the</strong>sia fees, charges for Oxygen and cost <strong>of</strong> suturing and Dressing materials,<br />

Pros<strong>the</strong>sis and devices will be considered at stipulated rates for indoor patients.<br />

d) List <strong>of</strong> approved Hospitals has also been enhanced with inclusion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following among o<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />

This is in addition to already exist Hospitals.<br />

1) A.M.R.I. Dhakuria, for Heart Surgery, Brain surgery, Kidney surgery and Cancer cases.<br />

2) Anandalok Hospital DK 7/3, Salt Lake.<br />

3) Sri Jain Hospital and Research Centre, 493B/12 G.T.Road(South)Howrah 711102.<br />

4) Jitendra Narayan Roy Hospital, 58/1, Raja Dinendra Street, Kol-6.<br />

5) All Railway Hospitals located in W.B., where outsiders are allowed for treatment.<br />
