SALT LAKE COMPLEX
The department is headed by an Addl. Chief Engineer. It worked under the overall control of the Member
(Transmission). During the year 2006-07, Salt Lake Complex Office executed repair/maintenance including
addition/alteration of different work e.g. Main Administrative Building Complex i.e. Vidyut Bhavan, DJ-Block,
Salt Lake; Abhikshan Building at BN-Block, Salt Lake, 240 units Residential Complex at LA-Block with its
Guest House at Salt Lake, Karunamoyee Housing Estate at Salt Lake, Residential Flats at Ellora Apartment
at Gariahat, CLD Building and related Residential Quarters at Howrah, and also Board’s Guest House at
Digha along with Family Units and Dormitory Building of Digha Holiday Home. This Wing has also taken up the
work of restoration/rehabilitation with allied repairs and outside painting work of Vidyut Bhavan and the work
is in progress.
This office also completed the remodelling and renovation work of a Mobile Transformer Oil Testing Laboratory
for Central Power Research Institute, in the premises of Research Workshop Building at B. N. Block, with all
earnestness.
Further, this office is generating fund by way of collection of Licencee Fees/Rentals from various Government
agencies who have taken accommodations at different flats at Board’s Residential Complex at LA-Block and
at Vidyut Bhavan. Total annual collection on such count is around Rs. 40.00 Lakh.
