3.0. STATUS OF DIFFERENT RENOVATION, MODERNISATION AND LIFE EXTENSION<br />

PROGRAMME OF OLD HYDEL POWER STATIONS UNDER <strong>WBSEB</strong>.<br />

3.01. JALDHAKA HYDEL PROJECT STAGE-I & II (3X9 MW + 2X4 MW)<br />

(RMU & AUGMENTATION SCHEME)<br />

Renovation & Modernisation works <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Jaldhaka Hydel Project Stage-I was envisaged along<br />

with addition <strong>of</strong> new units <strong>of</strong> 1x9 MW at Stage-I and 1x4 MW at Stage-II. Total estimated cost<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Jaldhaka (Stage-I) R & M Scheme is Rs. 5217 lakh, out <strong>of</strong> which PFC has sanctioned a<br />

loan amount <strong>of</strong> Rs. 3652 lakh. During <strong>the</strong> year 2006-07 major portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> work related to<br />

Hydro Mechanical work, Lot-II package has been completed. The Letter <strong>of</strong> Awards for <strong>the</strong> inside<br />

and outside <strong>power</strong> house Electrical work, Lot-IV package and for <strong>the</strong> R & M <strong>of</strong> existing TG sets<br />

and auxiliaries, Lot-III package are already placed. A total expenditure <strong>of</strong> Rs. 922.379 lakh has<br />

been made upto 31 March 2006 for <strong>the</strong> R & M scheme <strong>of</strong> Jaldhaka Stage-I.<br />

The aggregated original estimated cost <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Stage-I & II Augmentation Scheme is Rs. 3311<br />

lakh. Out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> estimated cost <strong>of</strong> Rs 1474 lakh for Stage-I Augmentation work, PFC had<br />

sanctioned a loan amount <strong>of</strong> Rs 1179 lakh in July 2005. The evaluation <strong>of</strong> Price bid for<br />

stage-I Augmentation (Lot-VA) package is in process.<br />

3.02. LODHAMA INTERCONNECTION SCHEME (LICS) FOR AUGMENTATION OF RAMMAM HEP<br />

STAGE-II (4X12.75 MW)<br />

The work <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> LICS scheme for tapping and diverting <strong>the</strong> Lodhama discharge to <strong>the</strong> common<br />

Forebay is under implementation in two packages :-<br />

1. Construction <strong>of</strong> diversion structure and Desilting basin for Lodhama intake<br />

2. Construction <strong>of</strong> tunnel for Lodhama interconnection<br />

Presently <strong>the</strong> work is under implementation with PFC loan. The estimated cost <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> project is<br />

Rs. 39.90 crore. PFC has sanctioned a loan <strong>of</strong> Rs. 19.95 crore. Upto 31 March 2007 almost 46%<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> intake and Desilting Basin works and almost 95% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Tunneling works are complete.<br />

A total expenditure <strong>of</strong> Rs. 2322.659 lakh has been made upto 31 March 2007 for <strong>the</strong> LICS.<br />

During <strong>the</strong> year 2006-07 an expenditure <strong>of</strong> Rs. 565.686 lakh has been incurred.<br />
