As per advice of Board, a DPR (Detailed Project Report) of “Online Remote Meter Reading & Monitoring” has been prepared and sent to MoP, GoI for APDRP funding. After successful completion of Test Bed Project, 300 Bulk consumers (10% of present strength) will be chosen for online “Remote Meter Reading” as a Pilot Project. Further roll out of this project will be done after successful implementation of this pilot project. Annual Report 2006-2007 119
ENERGY MANAGEMENT CELL Energy Management Cell is headed by the Addl. Chief Engineer, IT & Communication Cell with present set up of Superintending Engineers, Divisional Engineers, Junior Managers and staff. Major activities of EMC during 2006-2007 are as follows : • 100% Metering Project Starting from 400 KV up to 11 KV, WBSEB has provided metering at almost every transition point. Till date, a total of 5500 (approx) no. Static Meters (both 0.2 & 0.5 class) have been installed in the system (phase-I II & III). Another part of the project is Energy Accounting. Energy Accounting covers monthly Meter data collection, AT&C loss calculation, Loss computation in EHV & HV Sub-Station/Lines/Transformers and computation of Reliability Index etc. Remote Metering have been successfully done in almost 80% Metering points (sub stations) through dedicated P&T line with modem attachment. AT&C loss computation is done for all the Divisions and for all the Gr.Elec.Supplies. For the purpose of Data collection, Report Generation & Annual Maintenance of the Metering points for a period of 2 years – an extension order has been placed. During this period,1000 (approx) no. Static Meters (both 0.2 & 0.5) have been installed at various EHV & HV sub stations (under phase-III).
