Major Transmission Works :
West Bengal Transmission System Project
CP&ED prepared detailed design & engineering for Lines & Sub-stations of different voltage grade
from 66 KV and above along with associated lines
CP&ED arranged the joint inspection/testing of materials and equipment
Vetted and approved the drawings of foundation and structure Land utilization Plan and Plan and
Elevation of Switchyard layout etc.
14 nos. of lines and 31 nos. of Sub-stations (of different voltage levels) including New Haldia 220/
132 KV Sub-station under JBIC (Lot-I to Lot-IV) project, have been completed. Lo-I and Lot-II for
transmission lines have already been closed. Field activity of Lot-III and IV for Sub-stations has
been completed in totality. Efforts are being made for short closure of the said Project.
Normal Transmission Works
Design & Engineering of bulk power supply, traction power supply, normal augmentation and plan
works have been done by CP&ED
CP&ED prepared detailed design & engineering for new Sub-stations of different voltage grade
from 66 KV & above along with associated lines
Following new Sub-stations were commissioned during 2006-07 :
Krishnanagar 220/132 KV (2×160 MVA Tr. capacity) on 27.03.07
Coochbehar 132/33 KV (2×20 MVA Tr. capacity) on 20.07.06
