Implementation in o<strong>the</strong>r four Zones : by <strong>the</strong> Financial Year 2007-08<br />

Personnel Information System (PIS) : PIS package is running successfully in for all <strong>the</strong> accounting<br />

units <strong>of</strong> <strong>WBSEB</strong> using V-SAT Wide Area Network (WAN). Automatic data flow including transfer <strong>of</strong><br />

employee and MIS report generation has already been started successfully.<br />

Upgradation <strong>of</strong> 38 nos. Xeon Server : A scheme had taken up to upgrade <strong>the</strong> existing Xeon<br />

servers, installed at DCCs for cash collection work. These servers have already been upgraded<br />

by adding one additional processor, additional 2GB RAM and one hardware RAID Controller in all<br />

<strong>the</strong> DCCs. After upgradation, <strong>the</strong>se servers are now able to take up <strong>the</strong> additional load <strong>of</strong> L & MV<br />

Bill & bulk Bill. PIS and Pay packages will also be added to this server in phases. Performance<br />

<strong>of</strong> both L & MV Billing and Cash collection package has been increased a lot due to this addition.<br />

Hosting <strong>of</strong> <strong>WBSEB</strong> Portal (www.wbseb.gov.in)<br />

EDP Cell maintains a Portal <strong>of</strong> <strong>WBSEB</strong> and upgrades <strong>the</strong> same on daily basis. Various information<br />

about activities <strong>of</strong> <strong>WBSEB</strong>, employee information, Tender Notices etc. are displayed on <strong>the</strong> Portal.<br />

Information regarding consumer billing status for Centralized Bulk, Decentralized Bulk and L&MV<br />

Consumers (<strong>part</strong>ly) are also displayed and are updated weekly.<br />

Major works done under L&MV Billing S<strong>of</strong>tware<br />

* Development and implementation <strong>of</strong> s<strong>of</strong>tware for centralized consolidated billing and collection<br />

<strong>of</strong> different Government and o<strong>the</strong>r L&MV consumers having multiple service connections<br />

throughout <strong>WBSEB</strong>.<br />

* Modification <strong>of</strong> L&MV billing s<strong>of</strong>tware system as per tariff order issued by <strong>the</strong> West Bengal<br />

State Electricity Regulatory Commission dated May ‘2006 for <strong>the</strong> year.<br />
