ISO 9000 is becoming popular because it controls quality <strong>and</strong> saves money <strong>to</strong>o. A company<br />

may decide <strong>to</strong> use ISO 9000 for many reasons. To develop the system one has <strong>to</strong> start with<br />

gap analysis. A gap analysis will help the enterprise <strong>to</strong> identify the gaps that exist between<br />

the ISO 9000 st<strong>and</strong>ard <strong>and</strong> current processes <strong>and</strong> will tell exactly what one needs <strong>to</strong> do <strong>to</strong><br />

meet the ISO 9000 quality management st<strong>and</strong>ard. An enterprise may chose <strong>to</strong> follow this path<br />

because it needs <strong>to</strong> control or improves the quality of products <strong>and</strong> services or <strong>to</strong> reduce the<br />

costs associated with quality or <strong>to</strong> become more competitive. Alternatively, an enterprise may<br />

choose this simply because its cus<strong>to</strong>mers expect it <strong>to</strong> do so or because a governmental body<br />
