1.3 In case <strong>of</strong> instituti<strong>on</strong>s coming under the central ministry, the head <strong>of</strong><br />

the instituti<strong>on</strong> should communicate with Director/MSD for redistributi<strong>on</strong>.<br />

1.4 Transferring <strong>of</strong> excess <strong>drugs</strong> should be <strong>on</strong> “Issue Order “using form<br />

General 141.<br />

1.5 Acceptance will be <strong>on</strong> “receipt order” using form General 219 at<br />

RMSDD and other health instituti<strong>on</strong>s. MSD will coordinate/ m<strong>on</strong>itor this<br />

activity.<br />

1.6 Past experience has shown that change <strong>of</strong> c<strong>on</strong>sultants has caused<br />

accumulati<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> certain <strong>drugs</strong> in an instituti<strong>on</strong>. In such instances<br />

acti<strong>on</strong> may be taken to transfer those <strong>drugs</strong> to the instituti<strong>on</strong> where the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>sultant has been transferred to, in c<strong>on</strong>sultati<strong>on</strong> with the head <strong>of</strong> the<br />

instituti<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Refer Chapter 5 for the procedure <strong>on</strong> re-distributi<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> excess/short<br />

dated stocks <strong>of</strong> <strong>drugs</strong><br />

2. Short Expiry Drugs<br />

2.1 Officer in charge <strong>of</strong> the drug store and head <strong>of</strong> the instituti<strong>on</strong> should give<br />

special attenti<strong>on</strong> with regard to short expiry <strong>drugs</strong>.<br />

2.2 Acti<strong>on</strong> should be taken to redistribute short expiry <strong>drugs</strong> at least 6 m<strong>on</strong>ths<br />

prior to the expiry date.<br />

3. Disposal <strong>of</strong> withdrawn, expired and spoilt <strong>drugs</strong><br />

3.1 Disposal <strong>of</strong> all medical supplies should be d<strong>on</strong>e periodically. Officer/<br />

Pharmacist in charge <strong>of</strong> the stores should submit the unserviceable items list<br />

in form G 47 including the value in quadruplicate to the head <strong>of</strong> the instituti<strong>on</strong><br />

as per schedule shown bellow.<br />
