V N G O T S U E V K J G P H F O The farm lies in the little village of Bašelj, at the foot of Mount Storžič, and is an excellent base from which to discover the beauties of Slovenia. Guests are accommodated in modern rooms or, alternatively, in a 6-bed apartment with two large bedrooms and access to the terrace. The house also has a large dining room with a traditional bread oven. Other facilities include a television and free internet access. Food on the farm is home-made. You will enjoy home-cured meat products, fresh young cheese and organically grown vegetables. The farm also has a picnic area, particularly popular in the warmer seasons of the year. Bicycles, tennis racquets and table tennis bats are available for hire on the farm. For those who enjoy hiking, the farm is a good starting-point for ascents of Storžič and other hills and mountains in the area. If you need a guide, a member of the family will be happy to accompany you: they are all keen hillwalkers. The farm minibus is available to take guests on excursions around Slovenia, including day trips to Ljubljana, Kranj or Bled. T S N R G O T S U E V K J I R G Located near Kranj and Škofja Loka, Crngrob is the ideal setting for a tourist farm. Almost everything is produced on the farm, and everything served is fresh and homemade. The farm lunch includes beef soup with homemade noodles, roast pork, fried chicken or turkey, various cutlets, sausage and sauerkraut, buckwheat žganci (groats), cottage cheese štruklji, sausage preserved in minced lard, fresh vegetables, and salads and ends with fruit and potica. They also make several sorts of brandy. Guests will especially want to visit the Church of the Annunciation in Črngrob with its outstanding frescoes and magnificent Baroque organ, one of the most important artistic landmarks in Slovenia, as well as medieval Škofja Loka. The low mountains around Škofja Loka offer numerous fine hikes; Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj are a short drive away; nearby Soriška planina, Stari vrh, and Krvavec offer skiing in winter. open to guests: 1. 1. - 31. 12. R O T S U E V J R G F A O M Q The farm lies not far from the old town centre of medieval Škofja Loka. Next to the old farmhouse dating from 1786 stands a brand-new accommodation building, built in 2008, for the needs of farm tourism. Guests on the farm can choose between accommodation in modern rooms or apartments that are also suitable for disabled guests and families with children. You can relax in a small wellness centre complete with sauna and whirlpool bath. The farm is an excellent base from which to discover the charms of Škofja Loka. If you visit Škofja Loka and the surrounding area with the farm owner as your guide, you will learn far more than you would otherwise. She will be happy to organise guided visits to the surrounding area or further afield or to arrange a seminar (notice required). The area around the farm offers plenty of opportunities for active leisure: themed routes, hiking and cycling trails, fishing, skiing at ski resorts and numerous other activities. Crngrob, Križna Gora and Lubnik are all worth a visit, while in winter there is the nearby ski centre of Stari Vrh. The farm can also be a base for visits to Ljubljana, Bled and other interesting destinations around Slovenia. open to guests: 1. 1. - 31. 12. T U K L G W O M Q T S U E V K J I B G W P F A M Q The farm lies by the Poljanska Sora river, close to the mansion that once belonged to Dr Ivan Tavčar, the author of what is undoubtedly the most beautiful romantic novel in Slovene, Cvetje v jeseni (Blossoms in Autumn), and is open all year round. The farm is ideal for all who wish to spend their holidays in the peace and quiet of the unspoilt natural surroundings of the Poljanska Dolina valley. Accommodation is available in four modern apartments, two in the attic of the new building and two in the old granary (the farm once boasted a mill and a sawmill). Bicycles and canoes are available for hire, for a trip down the river Sora. Paddling down the Poljanjska Sora, which flows past the apartments just a stone's throw away, is a unique experience. The apartments are also a good base for those who enjoy hillwalking (the nearby Škofja Loka Hills), cycling, fishing and hunting, skiing (the nearby ski centres of Stari Vrh and Cerkno), ski touring (on the slopes of Porezen), climbing at climbing centres, and nature trails. And don't forget to visit the Tavčar Mansion, today a protected cultural monument.

The owners keep cows, chickens and horses on the farm, among other reasons also because they are aware of the fact that guests appreciate homegrown food and farm products. During their stay on the farm guests can thus buy meat, eggs, potatoes and seasonal vegetables grown on the farm. If you would like to learn how to bake bread, your hospitable hosts will be happy to invite you to their kitchen and prepare it together with you. All those who enjoy outdoor cooking can use the outside grill. The farm offers accommodation in modernly-equipped apartments. Farm guests also have at their disposal a swimming pool and a children's playground. The farm is an excellent starting point for all those who opt for farm holidays in order to discover the beauties of Slovenia. Places of interest in the vicinity include Lake Bohinj, Lake Bled, the beekeeping museum in Radovljica, Ljubljana, Škofja Loka, Postojnska jama, Cerkno, wartime hospital Franja, Idrija... There are also many interesting sights in the vicinity of the farm that you can explore on foot or on one of the many picturesque cycling trails, which could be a great outdoor adventure for families with children. (by arrangement) T O S U E V K G A M Q The Ljubica farm owned by the Stanonik family is situated amid solitary meadows with a view of the Škofja Loka hills, the Karavanke Mountains, and the Julian Alps. The food, from the vegetables and milk and milk products to the meat and dried meat products, as well as the brandy, is all homemade. In the forest nearby, guests can pick blueberries and gather mushrooms, and there are several beautiful summits in the Škofja Loka hills that hikers can explore. In the winter, guests can go skiing on Stari vrh or in Cerkno, and for the less advanced skiers, there is a ski lift close by the house. The Stanoniks like taking their guests for drives in their carriage or on the hay wagon, and after a pleasant drive on a warm summer's day, a dip in the pool beside the house is an ideal way to round off the day. The Ljubica farm also specializes in organizing nature study programs for children. open to guests: 1. 1. - 31. 12. T S N I R G P H A O V P H B M There are only six houses in the village of Zapreval where the Žgajnar farm is situated, and the villagers treat all the guests of the Žgajnars as they would their own. The 200-year-old farmhouse commands a wonderful view of the Kamnik Alps. The evening's activities include sing-alongs, and the Žgajnars love to tell their guests stories and legends of days gone by or teach them herbal lore. The meat, milk products, and vegetables that go into Mrs. Žgajnar's excellent dishes such as štruklji, spiced beef, vegetable soups, etc., are all produced on the farm, as are the beverages served with the meals. The farm has a garden with a pool and playground for children. In the winter the guests can ski on the nearby slopes of Stari vrh. Guests can go hiking in the mountains or visit the nearby medieval town of Škofja Loka. Two highlights of the summer are Charcoal Burner's Day, which takes place on the first Sunday in August, and Lacemaking Day, which takes place in Železniki every year at the end of June. open to guests: 15. 12. - 31. 10. T G O S E T K U V J R HL P Q M Romantics will come to this farm for the marvelous view of the Škofja Loka mountains and in winter of the illuminated ski slopes of Stari vrh. Guests can choose to rent an apartment, but if they don’t wish to cook for themselves, the hosts will serve them good homemade food. The nearby mountains are inviting year round. Stari vrh is an hour’s walk away, Miklavška gora is an hour and a half away, Koprivnik and Mladi vrh two hours, Ljubnik two and a half hours, and Blegoš three hours. It is also possible to bicycle through the Selška and Poljanska valleys and go hang-gliding from Stari vrh. 17
