The Jureš Tourist Farm stands among its own vineyards amid rolling nature only three
kilometers from Ljutomer. In the house, built in the rustic style in 1939, they will treat
you to Prlekija food, homegrown vegetables, and homemade jams and juices. With meals
they also serve a selection of their own first-class wines (gewürztraminer, sauvignon, šipon,
Welschriesling and Rhine Riesling, rumeni muškat), and the host happily invites guests for
wine tasting in the old wine cellar. Holidays on the Jureš Tourist Farm are as suitable for
those who love active holidays as for those for whom peace and contact with nature are
most important. Families with children are excellently provided for since the farm has a
beautifully arranged playground for children. In autumn guests can join the grape harvest,
November is time for Martinovanje (St. Martin’s Day) celebrations, and merry December
invites you to celebrate New Year’s Eve on the farm. In summer, it’s great to sit on the
terrace and watch the sunset. Nearby Jeruzalem, the old floating mill on the Mura River,
the “Island of Love” on the Mura—an excellent spot for boating, and the Ivanov spring in
Razkrižje invite you to visit, and lovers of spa pleasures can enjoy the Banovci, Radenci,
Lendava, Terme 3000, or Bio terme Mala Nedelja spas.
The Ozmec family house is located at the start of the Jeruzalem-Ormož Wine
Road, and inside you can warm your bones beside the old farm oven and enjoy
the display of antiques. This tourist farm is a popular stop for visitors touring
northeastern Slovenia. With five fishponds, the farm is a magnet for fishermen,
and fishing gear can be borrowed at the farm. In addition to fish, the hostess
serves plates filled with pork preserved in lard, sausages, cheese, and homebaked
bread as well as Prlekija gibanica, a unique form of this pastry delicacy,
and excellent dried fruit. Children can try riding the ponies, and bicycles are
also available for rides around the area, for example, to nearby Jeruzalem and
Ljutomer or to the famous floating Babič Mill on the Mura River where you can
buy various sorts of flour. The farm also has horses for riding, there is harness
racing in Ljutomer, and the swimming pools of the Bioterme Mala Nedelja,
Lendava, Moravske Toplice, Radenci, and Banovci thermal spas are only a short
drive away.
The Pihlar “Stari hrast” (“Old Oak”) Tourist Farm is situated on the Jeruzalem
Wine Road, a stone’s throw from the main road between Ljutomer and Ormož.
You will be surprised by the extremely interesting culinary offer, a combination
of traditional Prlekija cooking and contemporary culinary skills, of which the
hosts are very proud. All their dishes are accompanied by carefully selected
bottled wines. Your guests will happily invite you to the grape harvest, crowned
in November by the Martinovanje (St. Martin’s Day) festivities, and the last
month of the year is devoted to organizing New Year’s Eve celebrations. You can
visit the birthplace of the linguist Fran Miklošič or go swimming at the nearby
Banovci Thermal Spa. Nostalgic romantics must not miss a visit to the floating
“Mlin na Muri” mill on the Mura River and Bukovniško jezero Lake.
Jeruzalem - the Belec farm and wine cellar boasts a 350-year-old house, a
workshop filled with unique items made of clay and wood, painted ceramics, a
gallery, and a museum. There is a small kiln in the courtyard, and various pieces
scattered about drying in the sun. Milan is a master of domestic crafts, and
visitors can watch him at his work, decorating plates and pitchers, oil painting,
making coats of arms from clay for Slovene towns . . . His wife Janja provides
guests with outstanding homemade food, serving Štajerska sour soup, pork
preserved in lard, preserved vegetables, various juices (grape, apple, apricot,
cherry), must, and top quality wines and aperitifs. Son Samo arranges visits
to the wine cellar and tasting top quality wines. Guests can taste wines in the
shade of a trellis while they decide whether to visit the floating mill on the Mura
River or the wine cellars in Ormož and Ljutomer, tour the Jeruzalem Wine Road,
go for a bicycle ride, or go swimming at the health resorts in Radenci, Banovci,
and Moravci. By arrangement they will take guests along the Wine Road on
“Oldtimer” motorcycles, which is a unique experience.
