The Jenezinovi Tourist Farm, which lies in the peaceful village of Ratečevo
brdo, can be recognized by its beautiful balcony flowers, which are grown with
special love by one of the family’s sons. The hosts are famous for their delicious
dishes, spiced with the special flavour of Primorska. Because they are proud of
their produce, they happily offer their potatoes, apples, and honey for sale. A
thousand and one points of interest are found near their farm, and you needn’t
fear any lack of tourist adventures. You can start with a visit to Prem Castle
and the birthplace of Dragotin Kette, where you can get better acquainted with
Slovene literature. In our opinion, the Postojna Cave, the Škocjan Caves, and the
Lipica Stud Farm are required pleasures on a European tour.

In the village of Brce, thirty people still live in ten houses, in one of them the
Boštjančič family. All the buildings have been restored in the historical style so
guests can see and use the original “black” kitchen. Two apartments are available,
and the Boštjančičes will be happy to supply guests with domestic produce from
their own or other local farms such as pršut (prosciutto), plum brandy, fruit, and
vegetables. The surrounding woods and fields are ideal for horseback riding, and
the Boštjančičes keep horses for rent on their farm and give riding lessons in the
arena beside the house. They also offer boarding for horses. There is hunting in
the area and fishing in the nearby Reka River or the Mol and Klivnik reservoirs,
or you can drive to the Adriatic for a swim, hike in the nearby mountains, and
visit the Postojna or Škocjan caves and the Lipica Stud Farm and Riding Center.

In a wonderful natural setting, surrounded by meadows and forests, you will
find the Peternelj organic excursion farm. On the farm you will be treated to
traditional country dishes including their specialty, veal and horsemeat dishes. If
you want, you can also buy vinegar, apple juice and potatoes on the farm, which
has a certificate for organic farming. The farm is very suitable for families with
children, since there is a playground and kids can see many farm animals: horses,
cows, peacocks, dogs, pigs… If you like active holidays, you can rent a bike on the
farm, and your hosts can also take you on an organized tour of the Brkini and
Snežnik region. If hiking is your thing, you can head to Sviščaki, Mašun, Snežnik,
Žabnik, Vremščica… Near the farm you will find Prem Castle and Novak's mill. If
you have come to the countryside wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle
of everyday life for a while, relaxing on the shores of the nearby Posrtvica river
will certainly soothe your soul.

The Pri Damjanu tourist farm is located in the small village of Slope, in the midst of
unspoilt nature of the beautiful Brkini region. The farm continues the rich and varied
tradition of Brkini and Trieste cuisine in a way that will delight all food lovers. They
are particularly proud of their homemade pancetta with honey and apples, and their
specialty is delicious smoked pork ombolo (cutlet) prepared with olive oil. They also
prepare various dishes on the grill and under the peka (baking lid). There is always
plenty of homemade prosciutto, pancetta and other cured meat products, of course.
Damjan, your host, will be happy to advise you on which wines and aperitifs are
best suited to accompany the chosen dishes. Some of the products of the farm are
fruit, vegetables and pork meat. The farm offers lovely accommodation in modernly
furnished rooms. At the end of the day their guests will enjoy a visit to the sauna or
relax in the Jacuzzi, which is also part of the farm's offer. The farm is an excellent
starting point for a hike to the nearby mountains Slavnik or Nanos, for visiting the
Škocjan caves, for a guided tour of the Brkini region or simply for wandering around
beautiful nature and discovering nearby sights.
