The farm is located in Podklanec near Dravograd, at the point where three valleys meet: those of the Mežica, the Drava and the Mislinja. A feast for game-lovers! Before a tasting of the excellent home-made cured game delicacies – which takes place in a 150-year-old vaulted cellar – your hosts will take you on a tourist train ride to visit the pens holding the deer and mouflon, combining it with a visit to a hunting lodge where a fine hunting collection is on display. Young visitors are always excited about meeting a real live fawn, who is always ready to play. Excellent cured meat products are available to buy on the farm. During a visit to the farm you will learn lots of interesting details about how cured meat products are made on the farm and about life on the farm in the past and present. (by prior arrangement) T S G O T S U V J I R B G M The Jeglijenk tourist farm is situated on a hill overlooking the village of Selovec, offering a wonderful view of the surrounding hills and valleys as well as of the Austrian Alps. The hostess continues the tradition of Carinthian cuisine and prepares all the dishes according to time-tested, traditional recipes. The farm specializes in baking different kinds of bread (spelt bread, rye bread, white bread, fruit bread…) in their own bread oven. Your hosts will also offer you a rich variety of meat products (salami, bržola, paté, minced lard…) as well as cottage cheese, štruklji, horseradish sauce and other typical Carinthian dishes. Delicious meals are accompanied by grape juice or a glass of homemade brandy. Accommodation is available in modernly equipped apartments that are an excellent choice for families with children. There is a children's playground in front of the house and many toys on the farm itself. The farm is an excellent starting point for visiting the nearby Kope sports and recreation center, a popular ski resort. There is also a small ski slope near the farm, suitable for beginners. T S N G P O T S U E V K J I L R B G H M Q The Ošven Tourist Farm stands alone beside a forest immediately below the peak of Mount Uršlja gora where an unforgettable view opens over the village of Kotlje, the town of Ravne, and in nice weather over part of the neighbouring Austrian mountains as well. The hostess, an outstanding cook, will prepare a series of delicious items for you: dumplings, cold cuts with cottage cheese and pumpkin oil, or horseradish with bread. In the right season, the delicious food can be washed down with their homemade fruit wine. The Ošvens have a long tradition of beekeeping, so the farm always has plenty of honey brandy, propolis, and honey available. You can also leave the farm with a full basket of homemade meat products, sausages, cottage cheese, bread, and fruit wine. If you have ever toyed with the idea of observing wild animals, the family will happily take you on this kind of adventure. Hiking enthusiasts can also climb Mount Uršlja gora and visit Ivarčko jezero Lake or the Naravska ledina mountain lodge. (by prior arrangement) T S G O T P S U E V K J A W I B G F H Q The Samec tourist farm lies in the small village of Sele, surrounded by pristine nature and offering magnificent views of the mountains nearby. The hosts have thoughtfully transformed a typical former granary into modernly equipped apartments for their guests that are an excellent choice for families with children. The Samec family granary is one of the few still preserved granaries in Slovenia. They were used in the past for storing grain, dry fruit and walnuts, with a few pieces of cured meat or sausages hanging from the ceiling. Next to the granary is a lovely miniature kozolec (hayrack), which children staying at the farm can use for playing. Guests of the farm prepare their own food, while hosts can provide some of the ingredients since they breed cows, pigs and sheep on the farm. Some of the popular tourist attractions nearby are Meško's trail, Ivarčko Lake, the Land of Dwarfs trail, and the underground world below Mount Peca. If you are a cycling fan, you can sit on your bike and cycle around Uršlja Gora or explore the underground world in the former mines under Mount Peca. Hikers can head to the nearby mountains such as Uršlja gora, Peca or Raduha. You can also explore the nearby town of Slovenj Gradec, and if adrenaline is what you're looking for, you can try hang-gliding or climbing (popular climbing areas are Sele and Votle peči near Ravne). In winter you can head to the ski slopes at Kope, Rimski vrelec, Bukovnik and Ivarčko.

The hosts are famous for their preparation of lamb, which is wood-oven baked. Those who, in addition to memories, like to take home a souvenir or two, may, among other things, purchase home-made pear or plum brandy, apple vinegar, pear juice, herb tea, lamb meat or dried fruit. Mountain bikes are available on the farm and there are volleyball and basketball courts and a football pitch. Guests may also play table tennis or badminton or relax in the sauna. The hire of sport equipment and use of the sauna is included in the price. Younger ones can have fun on the children’s playground, take part in social games or go on an exciting treasure hunt. Your hosts say that their farm is a paradise for anyone seeking peace and quiet or an active holiday. The Ravnjak family will be happy to invite you to view the watermill and the gorge by the stream or to take you sledging in winter. There are several interesting footpaths nearby, including the Romans’ path, Meško path, Voranc path, Ivarčko lake, the homestead of Lovro Kuhar – Prežihov Voranc and the Roman hotspring. Cyclists can explore the trail around Uršlja gora, while hikers may take on Uršlja gora and Peca. The setting of the farm is a comfortable 700 metres above sea level, affording outstanding views to the valley and nearby hills, while being an ideal starting point for numerous excursions and themed trails. It is just 5 km from Slovenj Gradec, 6 km from a sports airfield, 3 km from a riding club and the church of Sv Jurij, which is now an attractive museum and 8 km from Kope ski centre. The surrounding area provides numerous possibilities for mountain biking, paragliding (it is possible to land on the farm) and sledging or skiing in winter. The farm boasts a rich natural and cultural heritage, including protected linden and holly trees, a shingle-covered double hayrack, a wooden cottage, a granary with press and mill, a restored 19th-century chapel, two fountains, an ethnological collection and a herb garden. The area around the farm has numerous well-kept peaceful corners for walks and relaxation. The farm furthermore features a children’s playground, table tennis and volleyball court, while there are many toys, books and social games for children in the house. The farm sets itself apart from others via its production of good-quality organic food and has the Biodar trademark. Having three children themselves, they are well-experienced child minders. Their daughter Karmen plays the zither, while son Andrej is an accordion and trumpet player. The Lešnik farm is also an educational farm. T S U N G E V G P M On the south side of the Slovenj Gradec Pohorje Mountains, one thousand meters above sea level on a solitary location and with a beautiful view of the valley, you can find the Turičnik Apartments. The farm offers guests two apartments for six persons that include all the necessary appliances for a comfortable stay and will make you feel at home. The apartments are only four kilometers from the Kope Mountain Tourist Center, which has over a hundred hectares of ski slopes for beginners and racers. Kope is especially interesting for group and family skiing. A cross-country ski trail and a winter hiking trail run from Kope to the Ribniška Koča mountain lodge. Guests can take walks or ride mountain bikes on the trails through the Pohorje mountain region, and try hang-gliding in Turiška vas or paragliding in Slovenj Gradec. T S U G O T S U E V J I R G P M This farm is situated in Legen, near Šmartno pri Slovenj Gradcu, on the regional road leading to the well-known ski centre of Kope and is an excellent choice for all those who enjoy snowy adventures in winter. The four members of the family who run the farm are a mine of information about local traditions and customs and are experts on herbal remedies. A stay on the farm is an excellent opportunity to discover the varied flavours of the cuisine of the Koroška region. And if you buy some homemade honey, jam made with the farm's own fruit and delicious apple juice, you can continue to spoil your taste buds even when your visit to the farm is merely a pleasant memory. Families with children are more than welcome on the farm, which has its own children's playground. If you love nature, your hosts will invite you to watch the sunset or try birdwatching. The farm is also an excellent starting-point for various hikes and cycling trails and for visits to Uršlja Gora, Peca, Raduha, the Ribnica lakes and so on. The Berneker Trail begins on the farm. A visit to nearby Slovenj Gradec with the landlady Helena, who is a licensed local tourist guide, is an unforgettable experience. 31
