The Firbas Farm is located in the little village of Cogetinci in the hill region of Slovenske Gorice
and has been welcoming guests for over fifteen years. The farm belongs to the European "Houses
of Tradition" network. The four members of the family welcome you with hospitality and spoil
you with home cooking and other services on the farm. Marjana looks after the kitchen and
Alojz looks after the wine. Their sons Bojan and Dejan help serve the guests and are in charge of
activities. Guests on the farm are people who want contact with nature and a genuine, homely
atmosphere. That is why ever since the beginning their vision has always been to only offer guests
what they can produce themselves and actually comes from their farm. The farm is most famous
for its viljamovka (pear brandy) but also for its wine, home-made fruit juices, meat products,
bread and puddings. On the Firbas Farm you can even sleep in the hayloft, hire bicycles, play
beach volleyball, football and table tennis or try your hand at archery. The farm has pigs, cows,
hens, rabbits, sheep, a goat and horses. You can even ride the horses, escorted by the farmer. The
surrounding area offers many possibilities for walks and excursions, including the nearby lakes
and thermal baths, more than 10 mineral water springs and Negova Castle. Other places worth a
visit include larger towns such as Ptuj, Maribor, Ljutomer, Gornja Radgona, Radenci and Lenart.
Surrounded by vineyards, the Moj dom (“My Home”) Tourist Farm can be found in the
heart of the Slovenske Gorice region on a gently sloping hill above the center of Juršinci.
Hostess Marta is skilled in organic cooking and the preparation of healthy country
lunches and also prides herself on excellent homemade bread and bread krapec. Meat
lovers will enjoy meat from the tünka (lard barrel) and cold cuts, which the Toplaks serve
with delicious wines produced from the vines that cover as much as ten hectares of their
land. If you want, you can relax body and soul at the local fishpond, and on the farm
you can visit the “Household Center” to enjoy kitchen specialties. If you enjoy learning
cooking secrets, attending the course that boasts the evocative title “Dishes of our
Grandmothers” is the right choice. If you wish, you can rest your body and spirit beside
the local fishpond, while those who enjoy a more active holiday can opt for walks and get
to know the Slovenske Gorice region, take bicycle rides to the Gomila Tourist Tower, the
Puch Museum, and the Museum of the Heritage of Queens, or go swimming at the Ptuj,
Radenci, Banovci, and Moravci thermal spas. A tour of the wine cellar with the tasting of
high quality wines can be an interesting start or finish for your visit to the farm.
The Pri Kapeli farm is situated on a hill at the end of the village of Drbetinci
from where you have a wonderful view of the valley south toward Ptuj, fifteen
kilometers away, and northwards toward Gornja Radgona. The farm's specialties
include mushroom soup made from their own mushrooms, buckwheat žganci
(groats), and various unleavened flat cakes. All their vegetables are home grown,
and they serve their own wines. There is also a sommelier in the house who
prepares professional tastings of various open and bottled wines. Recommended
excursions include the Ptujski grad castle, Ptuj, Ptujska gora, the wine cellars in
Gornja Radgona and Lenart, and the Slovenske Gorice Wine Road. As the local
roads are not very busy, bicycling and jogging are very pleasant activities.
