The Levar farm is only 300 metres away from the intermittent Cerknica Lake.
The village inn has a model of the lake; there is also an ethnological collection and
an interesting church. The landlady will lay on the table home-made buckwheat,
walnut, fruit, ham, corn or brown bread, as well as pork, beef or horse meat,
all kinds of vegetables and dairy produce. But of course, before all that comes
a small glass of home made brandy. Specialities of the house are obara (stew)
served with buckwheat žganci, štruklji made with home made cottage cheese
and butter, stuffed veal ribs and sponge cake. In the vicinity of the village are
Slivnica, Snežnik Castle, Rakov Škocjan, the winter-sports resort of Kalit, and
the Postojna and Križna caves. A visit to the karst caves, carbide torch in hand,
accompanied by an experienced caver, can also be arranged.

Situated in the middle of meadows only ten kilometers from the spectacular
Postojna Cave and thirty kilometers from the Lipica Stud Farm (home of the
Lipizzaner horse) and the Škocjan Caves, the Dolenc farm is the ideal place to go
if you like mountains and caves. Children can play in the barn, enjoy the swings,
and run freely in the meadows. The farm's food specialties include mushroom
dishes, gnocchi, homemade meat products, and various traditional pastries;
and to work up a healthy appetite, you can wander in the nearby woods along
quiet forest paths gathering berries and mushrooms, explore the countryside on
bicycle or horseback, go swimming in the nearby river, or in winter ski on the
slopes of Kalič or go sledding on nearby hills. In addition to Postojna Cave, there
are many small, lesser known caves to explore. Nearby woods, settled bicycle and
walking paths invite you also.

The farm lies at the very foot of Mount Nanos in the middle of blossoming
meadows beside the Nanoščica stream. For all guests spending their holidays
in Hudičevec, a variety of fresh and delicious dishes are always available,
along with excellent wines and other drinks. Several days must be devoted to
holidaying on the farm since it is not possible in an hour or two to discover the
rich karst underground world (Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle, Škocjan Caves),
climb Mount Nanos, Mount Snežnik, or Mount Vremščica, go riding in Lipica,
bicycling . . .

Vremska Dolina is a valley lying at the point where the Karst, the coastal region
and the hilly Brkini district meet. In the centre of the valley, at the top of a hill
beneath which the river Reka has carved out its channel, lies Vremski Britof – a
small, peaceful village with a wonderful view of the Brkini Plateau to the south
and Vremščica to the north. The Janko Farm is just three kilometres from the
entrance to the Škocjan Caves and other nearby caves include Divača Cave,
Vilenica and Postojna Cave. Accommodation is in modern apartments, and your
hosts will ensure that no-one who decides to visit Vremski Britof and their farm
has time to be bored. All the members of the family are intimately acquainted
with the Karst and the surrounding area, and with the history and customs that
go with them. You might want to visit Lipica for the golf course or the famous
stud farm, or explore the caves mentioned above, or visit the gorge at Školj. The
foot of Vremščica is popular with cyclists while Snežnik, Nanos and Slavnik
are all popular destinations for hikers. At the Gabrk sports airfield you can try
parachuting or take a flight in a glider or light aircraft.
