New build St.-Michael-Strasse 104 - 116 The dormer windows are crowned by curved roofing. Even the balconies are reminiscent of gentle waves, drifting their way towards the gardens. The dimensions of the new building appear somewhat familiar. When the Munich architects Ottow, Bachmann, Marx and Brechensbauer were awarded the contract to plan a new comparison building on the St.-Michael-Strasse alongside another building that had undergone modernisation only the previous year, they had to orient their activities in line with the existing “structure of the estate, green spaces and tenant structure.” They created a calm structure that matched the familiar surroundings. The interior displayed the advantages of modern floor plans. Rather than creating a series of identical units they designed a range of different apartment types, including maisonettes on the first and second floors. The residences range from 1.5-room apartments of 47 square metres to 3 and 3.5-room apartments of 75 and 88 square metres respectively. In 42 subsidised residential units, families live alongside single tenants; senior citizens alongside children. Below the gardens is an underground garage with space for 132 cars.
