Hinterbärenbadstrasse
Rattenberger Strasse
21- 25
Five-storey buildings on the Hinterbärenbadstrasse
and a three-storey building
on the Rattenberger Strasse, gabled
roofs and numerous tiny apartments
around a green courtyard: This is what
the residential block looked like prior to
the extensive renovation.
Originally built in 1954/1955 as a fivestorey
terrace and staggered to follow
the course of the Hinterbärenbadstrasse;
by the start of the new millennium, the
many small apartments no longer met
contemporary living standards. They had
neither noise nor thermal insulation
and the heating was provided by single
coal stoves. Some of the apartments
didn't even have bathrooms. Reason
enough for GWG München to undertake
thorough modernisation and implement
low-energy measures. As a beacon
