Main lines of research
The study of the cellular and molecular biology of pancreatic islet
cells and the study of insulin resistance in obesity. The specific
focus of the group is the mechanisms of destruction, protection
and regeneration of pancreatic beta cells with a particular
interest in the cell therapy of diabetes, and the metabolic and
molecular regulation of insulin resistance by adipose tissue.
