Main lines of research
A study of the molecular mechanisms involved in the link
between inflammation and insulin resistance:
a) evaluating the molecular mechanisms by which PPAR
agonists prevent inflammation and insulin resistance,
b) studying how monounsaturated fatty acids prevent
saturated fatty-acid-induced insulin resistance,
c) evaluating the mechanisms through which PPAR agonists
may prevent the development of metabolic syndrome,
dyslipidaemia and cardiac hypertrophy.
