Sec. lo. Xo privy-vault, cess-pool or reservoir, into which a privy,<br />

w<strong>at</strong>er-closet, cess-pool<br />

or stable or sink is drained, shall be consti-ucted,<br />

dug or permitted to remain within the corpor<strong>at</strong>e lin)its <strong>of</strong> this<br />

Earth privies and earth closets, witli no vault, pit or depression below<br />

the surface <strong>of</strong> the ground, are allowed, but sufficient dry earth or ashes<br />

must Vje used daily to absorb all the fluid part <strong>of</strong> the deposit, and the<br />

contents must be completely removed <strong>at</strong> least once every month.<br />

Sec. 14. <strong>The</strong> following diseases are declared to be communicable and<br />

dangerous to the public health, viz.: small-pox (variola, varioloid),<br />

cholera (Asi<strong>at</strong>ic or epidemic), scarlet fever, (scarl<strong>at</strong>ina, scarlet rash),<br />

measles, diphtheria (diplitheritic croup, diphtheritic sore thro<strong>at</strong>), typhoid<br />

fever, typhus fever, yellow fever, spotted fever (cerebro-spinal meningitis),<br />

epidemic dysentery, hydrophobia (rabies) and glanders (farcy), and shall<br />

])e understood to be included in th.e following regul<strong>at</strong>ions, unless certain<br />

<strong>of</strong> them only are specified.<br />

Sec. 15. Whenever any householder knows th<strong>at</strong> any person within<br />

his family or household has a communicable disease, dangerous to the<br />

public health, he shall, within twenty-four hours, report the same<br />

to the health otficer,t giving the street and numl)er or loc<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> the<br />

house.<br />

Sec. 1(i. Whenever any jihysician finds th<strong>at</strong> any person whom he is<br />

called upon to visit has a communicable disease, dangerous to the public<br />

health, he shall, within twenty-four hours, report the same to the health<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficer,t giving the street and number or loc<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> the house, on the<br />

receipt <strong>of</strong> which report the health <strong>of</strong>ficer shall immedi<strong>at</strong>ely notify the<br />

school committee <strong>of</strong> the public school, the superintendent <strong>of</strong> the<br />

graded school and the principals <strong>of</strong> priv<strong>at</strong>e schools within the limits<br />

this ,<br />

<strong>at</strong> the same time calling their <strong>at</strong>tention to Section<br />

13, Chapter 214, Laws <strong>of</strong> <strong>1893</strong>.<br />

Sec. 17. No person shall, within the limits <strong>of</strong> this<br />

,<br />

unless<br />

by permit <strong>of</strong> the health <strong>of</strong>lEicer,j carry or remove from one building to<br />

another any p<strong>at</strong>ient <strong>at</strong>Fected with any communicable disease dangerous<br />

to the public health. Nor shall any person, by any exposure <strong>of</strong> any<br />

individual so afiected, or <strong>of</strong> the bodv <strong>of</strong> such individual, or <strong>of</strong> any<br />

<strong>of</strong><br />

*To towns and cities having- already or about to introduce a system <strong>of</strong> sewerage suggestions<br />

as to the proper ordinances will be gladly furnished by the Secretary <strong>of</strong> the<br />

St<strong>at</strong>e Board <strong>of</strong> Health.<br />
