Admission Standards

Appeals will be handled by the Director of Admissions and the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment
Management.

II. Conditional Admission
Students admitted to the University in this category are subject to the following conditions:
• Students will be assigned an academic mentor from the Academic Advisement Center.
• Students who are placed in developmental English, reading, or mathematics must pass each
course with a minimum grade of “C” by the end of the third semester of matriculation.
• Students must obtain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and 24 semester hours
by the end of the first year of matriculation.
• Part‐time probationary admits must meet these conditions by the time they have earned 24
semester hours.
• Failure to meet these conditions will result in dismissal from the University. Students will then
be encouraged to enroll in a community college and earn an A.A. degree before returning to the
University.

Summer Bridge Program
These students will originally be denied admission to the University. They will be placed in a summer
enrichment program and, based on their performance, may be offered probationary admission to the
