Admission Standards<br />

Appeals will be handled by the Director of Admissions and the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment<br />

Management.<br />

II. Conditional Admission<br />

Students admitted to the <strong>University</strong> in this category are subject to the following conditions:<br />

• Students will be assigned an academic mentor from the Academic Advisement Center.<br />

• Students who are placed in developmental English, reading, or mathematics must pass each<br />

course with a minimum grade of “C” by the end of the third semester of matriculation.<br />

• Students must obtain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and 24 semester hours<br />

by the end of the first year of matriculation.<br />

• Part‐time probationary admits must meet these conditions by the time they have earned 24<br />

semester hours.<br />

• Failure to meet these conditions will result in dismissal from the <strong>University</strong>. Students will then<br />

be encouraged to enroll in a community college and earn an A.A. degree before returning to the<br />

<strong>University</strong>.<br />

Summer Bridge Program<br />

These students will originally be denied admission to the <strong>University</strong>. They will be placed in a summer<br />

enrichment program and, based on their performance, may be offered probationary admission to the<br />

<strong>University</strong>.<br />
