7605B-50 and A7605B-50 Repair Kits for 7605B and A7605B Emergency Shut-Off Valves IMPORTANT NOTICE Repair kit 7605B-50 may only be used to repair 7605B valves. Repair kit A7605B-50 may only be used to repair A7605B valves. The parts in these repair kits must never be used otherwise.
WARNING: Installation, disassembly, repair and maintenance must be performed only by qualified personnel. Complete maintenance should be performed only after all gas has been evacuated from the emergency shut-off valve. This can be accomplished by closing an upstream shut-off valve and bleeding the line to evacuate the gas. Installation, usage and maintenance of this product must be in compliance with all Engineered Controls International, Inc. instructions as well as requirements and provisions of NFPA #54, NFPA #58, DOT, ANSI, all applicable federal, state, provincial and local standards, codes, regulations and laws. Inspection and maintenance on a periodic basis is essential. Be sure all instructions are read and understood before installation, operation and maintenance. These instructions must be passed along to the end user of the product. CAUTION: Contact or inhalation of liquid propane, ammonia and their vapors can cause serious injury or death! NH3 and LP-Gas must be released outdoors in air currents that will insure dispersion to prevent exposure to people and livestock. LP-Gas must be kept far enough from any open flame or other source of ignition to prevent fire or explosion! LP-Gas is heavier than air and will not disperse or evaporate rapidly if released in still air. Any components that are not in good condition and fully operational should be replaced during repairs. Repairs must be performed in a clean area. Hands, clothing, tools and work area must be completely free of oil, grease and foreign matter to prevent contamination of component parts and valves. Clean the valve body and all parts before reassembly. Disassembly 1. Remove the two (2) acorn nuts which attach the cover to the valve body. Set aside for reassembly. 2. Remove the cover and save for reassembly. If cables are attached for remote closure, let the cover hang loose. The cover may be used as a means of retaining parts removed that will be used during reassembly. 3. Using a screwdriver, pry the retainer off the stem which holds the latching mechanism. Remove and save the retainer, latching mechanism and spring for reassembly. 4. Using a pair of pliers, carefully disengage the return spring. CAUTION: Once the return spring is disengaged it will spring forward sharply. 5. Using an allen wrench, loosen (but do not remove) the set screw. Remove the tripper and return spring from the shaft. Retain the parts for reassembly. 6. Remove and discard nylon gasket. 7. Remove and retain nut, washer and handle. 8. Remove the eight (8) cap screws and washers. Using a small blade screwdriver, place it between the body and plate and pry apart slowly to remove plate. Save all parts for reassembly.
