WARNING: Installation, usage, and maintenance of this product
must be in compliance with all Engineered Controls International,
Inc. instructions as well as requirements and provisions of NFPA
#54, NFPA #58, DOT, ANSI, all applicable federal, state, provincial
and local standards, codes, regulations, and laws.
Inspection and maintenance on a periodic basis is essential.
Installation and maintenance should be performed only by qualified
personnel.
Be sure all instructions are read and understood before
installation, operation and maintenance. These instructions must be
passed along to the end user of the product.
CAUTION: Contact or inhalation of liquid propane, ammonia and
their vapors can cause serious injury or death! NH 3 and LP-Gas
must be released outdoors in air currents that will insure dispersion
to prevent exposure to people and livestock. LP-Gas must be kept
far enough from any open flame or other source of ignition to prevent
fire or explosion! LP-Gas is heavier than air and will not disperse or
evaporate rapidly if released in still air!
INSTALLATION
1) The Hose End Adapter is easily installed on to the end of a liquid
fill hose by simply fastening the outlet of the hose into the Adapter
inlet fitting (see figure) and securing with sufficient torque to prevent
leakage.
2) Pressurize the adapter and check for leaks around all fittings
including the quick disconnect yoke.
3) Properly adjust the adapter so that the yoke arm fits securely
behind the wrenching section of the 7141M check connector. Use
the lock nut to secure the adjusting screw in position.
INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
OPERATION
1. Verify that the operating handle is in the up position.
2. Position the adapter so that the yoke arm is behind the
wrenching section of the 7141M-check connector.
3. Move the operating handle to the down position. The quick
disconnect yoke should move into the 7141M check connector
smoothly. If done properly, this connection should not leak.*
4. Open the service valve on the cylinder. Gas will now pass into
the cylinder.
5. Once the filling operation is complete, close the service valve on
the cylinder.
6. Move the operating handle back to the up position and
disconnect the adapter from the check connector.
NOTE: There may be a small amount of gas released at the time
the adapter is disconnected from the check connector.
7. Inspect the check connector for leaks and verify that all gaskets
and o-rings are intact before placing the cylinder back into
service.
*This adapter is ideally suited to fit the 7141M-check connector.
The use of this adapter with other check connectors may result in
an ineffective seal. Some adjustment may be necessary when connecting
to different manufacturers check connectors because of
dimensional differences in the connectors themselves.
