WARNING: Installation, usage and maintenance of this product
must be in compliance with all Engineered Controls International,
Inc. instructions as well as requirements and provisions of NFPA
#54, NFPA #58, DOT, ANSI, all applicable federal, state, provincial
and local standards, codes, regulations and laws.
Inspection and maintenance on a periodic basis is essential.
Installation and maintenance should be performed only by
qualified personnel.
Be sure all instructions are read and understood before
installation, operation and maintenance. These instructions
must be passed along to the end user of the product.
CAUTION: Contact or inhalation of liquid propane, ammonia
and their vapors can cause serious injury or death! NH3 and
LP-Gas must be released outdoors in air currents that will
insure dispersion to prevent exposure to people and livestock.
LP-Gas must be kept far enough from any open flame or other
source of ignition to prevent fire or explosion! LP-Gas is heavier
than air and will not disperse or evaporate rapidly if released
in still air!
Installation
1. Connect gas line to the inlet of 7193R-10 Quick Connect POL
Fill Adapter. Pressurize Fill Adapter and open the quick acting
valve. Check for leaks using a suitable leak detection solution.
2. Adjust clamp to allow easy movement on and off cylinder valves.
Use the double nuts to secure clamp in position. For compact
cylinder valves, a distance of 1 /8" to 1 /4" between the clamp and
the end of the tailpiece will usually allow satisfactory operation.
Operation and Installation
Operation
With the Quick Acting Valve open:
1. Move the lever arm approximately 90° from the body of the Fill
Adapter.
2. Place the tailpiece into the female POL opening on the cylinder
valve. The clamp should be placed on the upper body of the
cylinder valve -- just above the relief section.
3. Return the lever arm against the body of the Fill Adapter.
4. Open service valve on the cylinder. The gas will now pass into
the cylinder.
5. Once the filling operation is complete, close the service valve on
the cylinder.
6. Move the lever arm approximately 90° away from the Fill Adapter
body. This moves the clamp away from the upper body and
places the tailpiece back into the closed position.
Note: There will be a slight pop as the tailpiece moves away from
the female POL and releases the trapped gas between the seat and
service valve. Caution: If gas continues to discharge, close the
quick acting valve immediately. Remove the Fill Adapter from
service and repair.
7. Remove the Fill Adapter from the cylinder valve.
