and interface to braking system etc., exceeds the lie<br />
over period, the work has to be carried out in one or<br />
more phases. The tenderer should indicate the time<br />
required by him for installation of the on board<br />
equipment in the technical bid. After each phase<br />
the locomotive/MEMU should be in a position to<br />
carry out the normal scheduled performance.<br />

Para 4.39 is self-explanatary.<br />
<strong>Railway</strong>’s Engineer will issue<br />
Provisional Acceptance certificate as<br />
per tender condition.<br />
(b) Testing and Commissioning: - The on board<br />
equipment installed in the LOCO/MEMU will be<br />
tested in the car shed jointly by the <strong>Railway</strong> and the<br />
contractor as per the Technical Specifications and<br />
the Acceptance Test Schedule furnished by the<br />
contractor and approved by the <strong>Railway</strong>. The test<br />
schedule furnished by the tenderer will be modified<br />
by mutual discussions between the contractor and<br />
the <strong>Railway</strong> before finalization. Any component,<br />
modules, sub-assemblies or equipment failing<br />
during the commissioning test shall be replaced /<br />
repaired free of cost by the tenderer.<br />
All tests and measuring instruments and other<br />
arrangements required for these tests shall be<br />
provided by the contractor at his cost.<br />
