Original Text Clarification needed Clarification of <strong>Western</strong> <strong>Railway</strong><br />

TCalculation of Speed: The system shall incorporate<br />

-the necessary hardware and software module for<br />

Raccurate calculation of the train speed duly<br />

Daccounting for wheel slip/skid corrections.<br />

SManufacturer shall submit the details of the speed<br />

O calculation module along with the supporting<br />

Tinternational standards/practices being followed<br />

-world over for the same. Calculation of speed shall<br />

Wbe with an accuracy of ±2% subject to maximum of<br />

E±2 kmph. Further, the variation in wheel diameter<br />

due to normal wear during time period between two<br />

loco maintenance schedules shall not affect<br />

accuracy beyond the limits specified in this clause.<br />

Even if the OnBoard System is suitable for<br />

all types of trains, loco engineering for every<br />

single train type is necessary and has to be<br />

done.<br />
