DESCRIPTION<br />

 – This symbol signifies that <strong>the</strong> anchor, chains or wire rope, which have been specified by <strong>the</strong><br />

Owner for position mooring, have been tested in accordance with <strong>the</strong> specifications <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Owner and<br />

in <strong>the</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> a Surveyor. It is applicable to ship type displacement hull designed for <strong>of</strong>fshore<br />

operation as well as to multiple hull design. The symbol  is placed after <strong>the</strong> classification notation<br />

À A1.<br />

à – This symbol signifies that that <strong>the</strong> anchor, chains or wire rope satisfy <strong>the</strong> <strong>ABS</strong> Rules for Building<br />

and <strong>Class</strong>ing Mobile Offshore Drilling Units for position mooring, as outlined in Appendix 3-5-A1. It<br />

is applicable to ship type displacement hull designed for <strong>of</strong>fshore operation as well as to multiple hull<br />

design. The symbol à is placed after <strong>the</strong> classification notation À A1.<br />
